GRANDMA'S BREAD
 

Scald 1 cup milk and pour over:
 1 cup sugar
 1 1/2 sticks margarine
 1 Tsp. Salt

Let           | 2 packs dry yeast 
Rise         | 1/4 cup warm water
                | 1 Tsp. Sugar
                \------------------------

Add yeast mixture to first mixture. Add 1 tsp. vanilla, pinch of lemon or orange zest.
Add 2 cups flour to mixture and beat well
Beat 4 eggs, add to batter and beat until smooth
Add 3 to 4 (5,6) cups of flour depending on the texture of the dough. Let rise to double in bulk.

Put on floured board, knead dough just enough to get smooth. Put in 2 greased and floured bread pans. Let Rise until double. Bake at 325°  for 35 to 45 minutes or until brown.

Since my little back fiasco, I use a Kitchenaid mixer with dough hook. When dough balls on hook the 2nd time that's enough flour. Then knead in mixer for 5 more minutes.
